An overview of vaccinations for Thailand

Vaccinations and protection

For a trip to Thailand vaccinations aren't required, however it is recommended to get vaccinated against the following viruses:

  • Hepatitis A

  • DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio)

The following vaccinations are advised depending on the area where you stay, duration of your stay and / or personal circumstances. Ask your doctor for advise on these vaccinations:

  • Typhoid

  • Hepatitis B

  • Tuberculosis (TB)

  • Rabies (Rabies)

  • Japanese encephalitis

In Thailand tablets against Malaria are not required, but it is wise to protect yourself against mosquitoes. A mosquito repellent is a product that actually should be in your possesion. Preferably, an anti-mosquito agent containing DEET. This is available on almost every corner in Thailand, so you do not have to take this with you in your luggage.
